I bet everyone here knows at least one Republican they like, somebody who maybe voted for Bush because of some "values" of "war on Tara" bullshit that has nothing to do with the impending onslaught on our civil liberties, the environment, social security and so on. I know several.

I'm asking you to think today of a Republican you know and like. That's all.

In the coming days, I'm gonna ask you to figure out specifically which issue or issues they'd don't realize they oppose Bush and the GOP on, possibly virulently. Maybe the raging homophobe next door is really gonna need their Social Security. Maybe your gun-loving hunter friends actually care about their favorite killing fields wetlands. Maybe the person who still thinks Saddam was involved in 9-11 is a little paranoid about the FBI. There's bound to be something Bush is doing that will piss them off mightily.

Just find one. Your own, personal Republican.

Find their personal wedge issue.

No need to start hammering yet. Just keep being their friend. Seriously.

When the time comes, you'll be ready to change their mind.
