“America kidnapped me”

Want to know why Bush is the most dangerous president in American history?

Read this first-person memoir
from Khaled El-Masri, a car salesman who was falsely believed to be
involved in the 9/11 attacks.  He was kidnapped, beaten, and imprisoned
for five months before the mistake was figured out.

I was forced to record a video saying I
had been treated well.  Then I was handcuffed, blindfolded and taken to
a building where I was severely beaten.

I don’t know what’s worse: a) Bush openly admitting that he is willing
to defy federal law and the constitution, while lying through his teeth
with claims that he is obeying the law, or b) the appalling lack of
public outrage.  I feel physically sickened just thinking about it.

Oh, and by the way, there’s yet another new report of another American secret prison where inmates were tortured.

Words fail me today.  Sorry.

The War on Christmas is over

At least on this site.  Even though catching Fox News
with a dozen different uses of the word "holiday" on their site — and
no mention of Christmas — has been fun and popular, I’m done with the
subject.  Wasting any more breath on the point is allowing the lunatics
to set the agenda.

That said, I’ve learned the following in the last week:

There’s yet another use of the word "holiday" on the page — in fine
print, in the graphic to the left of "Deck The Halls," underneath the
words "Real Simple."  This raises the score to Holidays 12, Christmas 0.

At various times since, as the original Fox News page has been updated,
the word "holiday" has appeared as often as 14 times, with nary a
mention of the word "Christmas."  The source code has contained the
word up to 17 times.

Finally, I have heard from several overseas visitors that the Armed
Forces Network, that noted liberal conspiracy, is using the phrase
"Happy Holidays."  Because obviously, the U.S. Army, Air Force, Navy,
and Marines all hate Christmas.

This is just too stupid to continue bothering with.
