Race riots in Oz

Posted on December 12, 2005 by Bob

I still adore Sydney, it’s still one of my favorite places on Earth,
and I’m still excited to be headed back late next week.  But the race riots in Cronulla have been truly depressing to see.

To my limited knowledge, this Aussie blog entry seems to get things about right.  Sigh.

Still, Oz does have pademelons.

What really happens when you lend $25 via Kiva.org to help an overseas mom-and-pop business? I followed my own money all the way to clients in Peru, Nepal, Cambodia, Lebanon, Kenya, and a dozen other countries. Do you really get paid back? And does it really do any good?
