Spent some time today working on the Trebekistan-related section of the site, which as you can see is still only about one percent finished. Some bugs in the template to iron out, obviously
Friday pudublogging: maintenance repairs edition
This wonderfully puzzling image comes from reader Mark in Detroit:

So, if I understand this, the pudus in the Detroit Zoo are undergoing maintenance repairs? What does this entail? Combing their fur? Whitening their teeth? Sharpening their trotters and teeny little antlers?
Given all the chaos at this site of late, and all the building of Trebekistan I’m trying to get done, the image certainly seems appropriate.
I apologize to those readers who miss the political, non-book-pimping posts. These will resume when the non-political Trebekistan wing is built, I promise. have been many things I’ve wanted to write up and simply didn’t have the time. And meanwhile, a few thousand new visitors were wandering in, looking for a Trebekistan thingy which didn’t even exist yet. So I’m just juggling some plates. Maintenance repairs. Shining up the antlers. That sort of thing. Thanks for understanding.
I have never been prouder
This is Trebekistan’s Amazon sales ranking as of yesterday:
Finally, I have surpassed the epic volume Cat Vs. Cat, and its important messages of peace. Among cats.
Even more weirdly, apparently both Trebekistan and Cat Vs. Cat are also outselling the entire sum of World History: Human Experience.
That’s not good. But if you’ve been following the news lately… I guess it would explain a lot.
And I’m still just making coffee
Just found out that the first Trebekistan video was linked to by Salon and just hit the Google Movers & Shakers list.
Well, that was fast.
UPDATE, evening: fell off the Movers & Shakers
